Is a refurbished laptop or computer less reliable than a brand new device? 

No, our refurbished devices are repaired using a series of strict standards. They are then graded based on the repairs and inspection of the functionality and external cover of the device. 

Our standards are very high, every device listed on our site has been tested and graded to guarantee its quality and durability. 

 

What are refurbished grades?

Refurbished grades are a quality standard of what the customer should expect from our refurbished device including all factors. 

These grades are a guideline to understand the quality of our products. It covers descriptions such as scratches, scuffs, faults and details of the device.

 

GTS GRADING SYSTEM 

Open-box computer – As good as new

These are new devices that have been returned in their original packaging. The security seal may be open but the device is always brand new.

The benefit of Open Box devices is usually, the manufactures warranty. In some cases, the buyer can repair or replace this device if they experience a fault.

 

Ex-Demo – Barely Used

These devices are usually displayed products, the exterior may vary slightly but the device is always in tremendous conditions. All the hardware and components will be of the best quality.

These are the best bargain devices for quality, durability and cost.

 

Grade A – Great Condition

These are almost new devices, usually without distinctive scratches, scrapes or dents. These devices come with no faults or issues; all components and hardware will be in superb condition and work at an impeccable rate.

 

Grade B – Good Condition

These devices are mid-range in the grading system. The hardware system will be in great condition; the screen and speaker will be damage free.

Grade B devices may have minor scratches to the casing but they are in almost good condition.

This grade for any device is best for students and businesses as they are, able to achieve a sleek look at an adorable price without compromising totally on quality.

 

Grade C – Well Used

These devices are usually pre-owned and will have clear signs of exterior damage such as scratches or slight dents. However, this will not alter the functionality of the device and it will work perfectly without any faults.

This grade for any device is best for families and children who may need a home device for completing tasks and are not concerned about the aesthetics of the device.

 

Grade D – Heavily Used

These devices usually have several scratches and dents. The hardware may still function but the screens may be damaged and not have the best aesthetic.

We do not sell GRADE D devices, however, we accept them for recycling purposes.

Summary

Open box and Ex-Demo devices come with a 1-year warranty. 

Grade A-C all come with three months warranty
